Chapter One :Chapter 1

In the middle of the night, under the mottled moonlight and with lanterns bright, Su Tang briskly ascended the spiraled staircase in a mountain villa teeming with inebriated crowd. With a worried expression, she trotted down the long corridor scanning left and right.

Her mother had been missing for a whole day and night. Just before she was about to call the police, she received a message from her half-sister, An Xin: Your mother is with me, hurry to the mountain villa.

On either side of the corridor were closed doors. Su Tang was anxiously running, her heart jittery with fear.

An Xin was extremely idiosyncratic and ruthless, audacious in her ways. She always considered Su Tang and her mother as thorns in her side, always trying to insult them for her amusement.

Su Tang was terrified at the thought of what might happen if her mother was caught by An Xin.

Suddenly, a loud noise emanated from behind a walnut wood door. Su Tang immediately halted. Her intuition told her something was going on within!

In an instant, the sound that had echoed to her ear suddenly vanished.

After a silence that was suffocating, the sound of a heavy impact came from the inside of the walnut door.

She remained indecisive at the door.

High-profile guests generally attended the dance organized by the An Group. Su Tang was afraid of what she might witness against her will if she barged in, which could lead to a major trouble.

And yet, she hesitated. She worried if her mother was indeed inside, but she didn't make it in time to save her.

To enter or not to enter?

As she was trying to make up her mind, a text message arrived, it was from An Xin: What’s the matter, you stand at the door, not daring to save your mother?

Upon reading the message, Su Tang sucked in a sharp breath and pushed the walnut wood door with both hands and marched in.

Inside the spacious room, there was a tall man standing by the bed, his expression grave.

"Oh no, I've taken the wrong turn."

After failing to find the person she was looking for, Su Tang muttered a complaint under her breath. As she was about to turn around and leave, she unexpectedly heard a man's commanding voice: "You, halt!"

His slightly hoarse voice carried an unquestionable authority.

He... must have mistaken her for someone else.

Instinctively, Su Tang quickened her pace. The guests invited to the mountainside villa were not ordinary people; she didn't want to get herself into any trouble.

Just as her right hand was about to reach the doorknob, a pair of strong arms encircled her, rendering her immobile.

This was the first time Su Tang had ever had such a close encounter with a man. Feeling his rampant heartbeat, her cheeks flushed and she cried out in panic, "Who are you? Let go of me!"

The man didn't answer her. He forcefully turned her around, pinned her shoulders, and pushed her into a corner.

Su Tang cautiously eyed the man standing in front of her – he towered over her by two heads. His eyes were narrow, his nose was straight, and a faint blush spread from his forehead to the bottom of his neck.

Upon meeting his deep, red-tinted pupils, she involuntarily dropped her gaze, her heart seemingly skipping a beat.

As the man's grip on her tightened, Su Tang opened her mouth to explain, "I'm sorry, I've walked into the wrong room. Please, let me go."

Not only did he refuse to release her, but the man also tightened his arms, embracing her tightly. A hint of a tantalizing curve appeared on his lips as if he was experiencing a sense of unexpected delight.

"Hey, there's a camera above!"

Instead of letting her go, Su Tang came up with a cunning bluff to distract him.

As expected, the man's arms slightly loosened. As he looked up at the ceiling, Su Tang seized the opportunity to break free from his grip with all her might.

Then, she ran towards the black walnut door at lightning speed.

However, just as she was seconds away from grabbing the door handle, an indifferent male voice forced its way into her ears, "Hey, you, it's showing."

His suggestive words held a playful edge.

Su Tang quickly lowered her head, assessing herself from top to bottom, seeing her dress properly intact, she suddenly realized – No, this man, he was just trying to divert her attention!

By the time she reacted, it was too late. That man, fast as a blink, drew her back into his arms again. He bowed his head, and his hot lips audaciously claimed her peachy lips.

Su Tang could feel an intense sizzling pain forcefully invading her mouth, lingering between her teeth and lips, wantonly drawing out her fragrance.

She felt as if she was wrapped in a ball of fire, unable to escape or hide.

Despite her flushing face and struggling efforts, Su Tang could not escape from his constrains. She bit down hard, immediately filling her mouth with a bloody taste.

That man then lifted his head, quietly observing her, a subtle smile playing on the corners of his lips.

His unruly face held an ambiguous expression, causing a chill to run down Su Tang's spine, as if a mystical power drained all her strength.

Seeing his increasingly red skin, and feeling his burning flesh, she couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "Are you sick?"

"You a doctor?"

The man gazed at her with interest. His look was like a piercing light, as if it could penetrate her heart, see through her thoughts, and involuntarily, Su Tang's footsteps halted.
